Onder Invloed

We've probably seen more live music so far this week than in a long time. Were showing Dutch journalist Matthijs van der Ven around Glasgow with his sound engineer Ro Halfhide. Today we were shown around the music department of Stow College, by head of music David Hughes and Ken McCluskey.

Three weeks on the road and we wont make it home tonight

We've been away about three weeks now which has seemed to have flown by. We flew in Schiphol on the 11th and met Matthijs van der Ven of www.onderinloed.com fame. We stayed in Matthijs flat in Utrecht where he very kindly gave his bed over to me and Iona for a couple of nights...in light of this, i reckon we'll have to upgrade our air mattress for when Matthijs visits Glasgow next month.

a (re) Release

26/1/09

Well, it's been a while in the pipeline, but today our debut album is officially released in the UK, in conjunction with distributor Proper Music Distribution.

You will be able to find the album online at Amazon, Play, HMV (among many others) and also in record shops, should you still be able to find one on the UK High Street.

If you are one of the lucky, lucky people Cool who already own a copy and find yourself with a few spare surfing minutes, our new web-based market presence means that you can nip by one of the above sites and unleash your very own review on the rest of the web.

We are now setting our sights on the next record, having recently completed a 7 track demo of new material. The aim is to start recording later in the year and release in early 2010. There's still some songwriting to be done and more demo tracks to be laid down, so we're trying to reign in a few ideas that have been floating around us for the last few years. Soon we will be letting you know how you can gain exclusive access to download these new demo tracks and have a taste of what is to come this time next year. And, most importantly, let us know what you think of the new material!

It's early January

07/1/09

Its early January…

So that means it’s the BDO World Darts Championship from the Lakeside. After last years fragile showing, were both cheered from these post new year blues by Ted “The Count” Hankeys’ strong showing in the opening round and looking forward to his second round clash at 7.50 PM GMT tonight. Oh, yes!

We were also very pleased to be nominated in the ." Fatea 2008 Awards and to be runner up in the best group category is pretty cool. Another bite size chunk of news is that our records will now be distributed nationally through Proper Distribution which is kicked off with a kind of re-launch of album on the 26th of January, which more-or-less coincides with our Celtic Connections show. There’ll also be a release on Ma’am records in Germany in early February, which will coincide with a tour.

So Happy New Year to everybody and all that remains to say is “come on Ted!”
